Chicken and Vegetable Masala Oats

A simple and easy to make recipe with all healthy ingredients. It will not take much of your time. I prefer having it for dinner as it is packed with nutrition and satiates me with just a bowl and helps in weight loss. One bowl of this masala oats is filled with carbohydrates, good fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. Oats are gluten free whole grains and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and anti-oxidants. They also help in lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Chicken is a good source of protein and can help to build stronger muscles and promote healthier bones. Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients. Innumerable studies have linked the nutrients of vegetables with promoting healthy mind and body and also lowering risk of chronic diseases. (Serves 2)

  • White Oats – ½ cup
  • Chicken – ½ Breast piece boiled and shredded
  • Oil or Ghee – 1 teaspoon
  • Onion – 1 tablespoon
  • French beans – 2 tablespoon
  • Carrot – 1 tablespoon
  • Cabbage – 2 tablespoon
  • Peas – 1 tablespoon
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – ½ teaspoon
  • Chilli Powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt as per your taste
  • Water – 500 ml


 Step 1

First clean the chicken and all the vegetables. Boil the chicken and shred it. Chop the vegetables on a clean cutting board and keep it aside.

Step 2

Put a nonstick pan on a medium flame and add oil to fry the onions till it turns light brown.

Step 3

Add chicken and all the vegetables in pan n stir fry it for 2 minutes.

Step 4

Add ginger garlic paste and all the other spices (chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder)

Step 5

Add water and let it to boil. After that add oats and cover the pan to let them cook for 2 minutes on simmer.

Remove in a bowl and add coriander to it.
